Halloween part 2

I think we are pretty much done with the inside now also. We added a web to the big spider this year.

We also got a big pirate I have to admit I was thinking more along the lines of Captain Jack but I guess this one works for halloween.

This is the favorite place to congregate now because of the halloween dots.

I know I never did put the Christmas village away last year I am hoping it will make it look a little more Nightmare Before Christmasish. That works right?

Getting ready for Halloween!

Today we started decorating for halloween. The kids were very excited although only one showed up to help.

Jacob building a monster.

And here he is finished and hanging over the door.

Three scary skeletons.

This is my favorite piece he is a solar light.

We have a few other pieces that we wont put out till the week of halloween and some that can't go out till halloween so we will post more pictures later. We are also going to work on inside deocorations next week. Hope everyone is having a spooky October.

Rat!!

Zach found a rat out in the storage shed today. It was in the bucket next to the dog food and he was pretty sure it was a rat. This is what I found when I went out to take care of it.

Jacob wanted to keep him and was very upset when I said no. I threw him away in the big garbage can outside and now he is drawing a picture of it to throw in there with him to keep him company till he meets his new friends at the dump. Kids are funny. I guess we will have to show Zach a picture of a rat so he knows the difference;) Have a great one everyone.

Last summer adventure day.

It was our last summer adventure day trip. The boys start school on Monday so we decided to head up to Park City. We rode the Gondola's and did some shopping at the farmers market.

At first the boys were a little nervous about riding in them but they did get used to them and really enjoyed the ride.

It was a little high up and fairly windy but a lot of fun.

Then we decided to take a trip over to the Alpine Slide for a ride on that. We got to ride the ski lift up and on the way Jacob noticed that there were several Kevins playing in the grass below us.

And here come the boys...

And when we were all done the boys stopped for a rest and Zach fell asleep.

The boys decided that this was their favorite activity of the summer. They also agreed it was even better because dad got to come along.

Gateway again.

Almost to the end of summer break. I have mixed feelings about it. But we decided to go up to the gateway for our adventure this week. We went with some friends and road the trax train again.

After playing in the fountain and eating lunch we decided to ride down to the Frontrunner station and take a ride on it also. We rode it to the end of the line and back. The boys were worried about being bored and worked word searches and played games on the phone rather then look out the window at the scenery.

And of course we can't take a trip without some little friends.

Cooling off the pool

The pool had reached the point where it was just to unbearable to spend any amount of time in it was 98 degrees. So we decided to go get some dry ice and cool it off. We stood on either side of the pool and submerged a green bag full of ice halfway into the pool. This kept any of it from escaping and touching the sides of the pool.

It took about an hour of bubbling fogginess I didn't realize that dry ice would take so long to melt. But when it was all said and done the final temp was 86 degrees. And it felt wonderful. Craig has been out of town for a week now and missed out on the fun but hopefully when he gets home the pool will still be a more comfortable temp.
