Alpine Slide

We decided last year when we took the boys up to the alpine slide right before school started that it was a fun end of summer right before school starts activity. So we wanted to make it an annual event.

We got up there a little before the slide opened up so we had to wait.  Luckily I had my nook in my purse.  Although I must admit I generally carry it so I can read on it but the boys use it to play Angry Birds.

We decided to ride the coaster that they have up there also but Jacob was a couple of inches to short.  He could still ride just not by himself.

Here we are waiting our turn.  Everyone was really excited but Jacob who at the last minute decided that he didn't want to go.  We already had a ticket and no one else could use it since his was a kid ticket so of course being good parents we said sit down, shut up and hold on we paid and you are going.  Watch for him on a future episode of Oprah.

As it turned out he loved it he kept yelling at me to make it go faster.  I on the other hand decided that I didn't like it and would have loved to have gone slower.  Everyone else loved it though.

These two pictures were taken while we were waiting our turn to get on the ski lift to go up to the slide.

On the ski lift going up to the slide.

Pulling the sleds.

This picture is of Zach on the far right and Jacob is two slides over holding up the mom and son coming down behind him.  I didn't end up with any closer pictures that weren't out of focus.

We stopped for lunch at a little eating place next to the slide and Jacob was happy to see that Phineas and Ferb were playing.

After lunch we decided to go ride the gondolas.

At the top we stopped for a picture at the bobsled.

Based on the way that he posed for this picture I don't think that Zach has any clue how the front bobsled guy actually rides in it.

I am not sure what caught their attention I was trying to get a picture of them looking at the camera and at the last minute something else caught their attention as you can tell.  I don't remember now what it was.

Downtown Disney

We took a bunch of pictures in downtown disney but I tried to narrow it down to some favorites.  Of course Jacob wanted his picture taken with everything and Zach didn't.  Do you know what movie this is from?

I am not sure what they were both looking at in this picture but I still liked it.

This is a favorite spot for pictures with us.

And so is this one.  Everyone wants to have their picture taken on the log with poo on it.  Winnie the Pooh that is;)

This is in the pin shop.

This is outside of the toy shop.  Trisha told Jacob that Buzz was pinching her bum but I don't think that he got the joke until he saw the picture.

Mr. Potato head.

Zach really didn't want to be in this picture can you tell.

making shirts

There is a shop in downtown disney where you can make your own shirts.  The boys loved this.
Here are Trisha, Zach and Jacob (in that order) in front of the store.

Jacob making his shirt.

And Zach making his.  I didn't get a picture of the finished shirts I will have to add them later.

Movie resort

Here are just a few shots that were taken in various locations at the hotel.  We stayed at the all star movie resort.  We have been their before but this time we were in the mighty ducks buildings.

This mickey is the fountain right next to the main pool in the center of the resort.

This is taken down at the mighty ducks pool.  Our building actually faced out to this pool we were happy with where we were located as well.

We watched a lot of disney channel.

Last time that we were there we stayed in the dalmations buildings this picture didn't turn out to well though.  It was a bad shot with the sun.

A couple of times when we went to swim at the pool it was closed due to weather there are a lot of thunder storms there this time of year.

This is where the life guards hung out while waiting for the thunder and lightening to clear up.  This is taken underneath of the duck goalie mask pictured earlier in this post.

Jacob wanted a picture of him taken in Zach's bed.  We took a blow up bed for him and got extra bedding since they couldn't guarantee we would get a rollaway it was first come first serve.  Zach didn't mind sleeping this way on the floor and Jacob liked to pretend to sleep on it as well.  Of course Jacob said he would have been happier on this since I didn't allow him all the room that he needed on the bed that we shared to give him a good nights sleep.  I claim the opposite;)

Why we love disney blog hop

Welcome to all of you stopping by from the Disney Blog Hop hosted by Lisa of Babes in Disneyland, we are happy to participate this week with why we love disney.

I could tell you many reasons why the biggest reason though is the memories.  Disney has become such a part of our lives that at this point a lot of our family memories are tied up with Disney.

And where else can your kids dangle in the air high above a castle just for a picture for mom.

Flood

I think most everyone knows that we had a bit of a flood while we were in Florida.  The drain in the stairwell outside of the basement didn't work and we got dumped on a bunch of water came in.  And a few friends (worms).  I meant to take a picture while we had the carpet pulled up but never did.  So these were all taken after the carpet was back down.

The whole back section was wet so everything got moved to the front and some wonderful friends loaned us a big fan.  We threw away the padding in the whole back section and dried everything else out.  Once dry we put the carpet back down and are planning to replace it in the spring or early summer next year.  Here is the problem Craig wants wood I want tile.  I think if this happens again tile will hold up better he thinks tile is cheap and tacky.  So right now we are at a bet of a stand off.  Of course I guess next time he goes out of town I could just hire someone to come in and put down what I want anyway.  haha just kidding.  I did notice that maybe we can call in the ghost hunters we seem to have orbs isn't that what they say a ghost looks like on camera?  Pretty cool we might have our own resident casper to bad he doesn't do housework.

This was what the front of the room looked like.  Lucky for me Craig said he was going down to check on something one night and when I went down to check on him a little later he had everything cleaned up and back where it belonged.  Maybe I will have to let him have hardwood after all:)  Maybe that was his plan all along.  hmmmm.  I am just glad that he did clean it up cause to be honest I was not looking forward to it.

Now for my next project ...... trying to get the boys to clean their own bedrooms.  I am seriously considering taking pictures to post in the hopes that they will want afters posted also.  I read about it somewhere and wonder if it would work for my kids.  I might be back later today we'll see I guess if I have to stoop to that level or not.
