Actually I do believe they feel that is the best way to start anything off the year, the month, the week the day or even the hour for that matter.
They are playing animal crossing with an online friend. Later they are going to get the opportunity to do a couple of other things for the first time this year. The big one is clean their rooms. The noise that they will make over this will be considerably different then the noises they make when playing the wii. That will be another first for the year.
