photo fun

So we were on our way home from a barbeque Saturday night and had to stop for a photo op.  The sun was really red but it didn't show up as red in the picture. 

We also tried to do one of those fun pictures that are all over the internet where you are holding the sun or moon etc.  It looked more lined up on the camera but I think it is still ok for my first try and the sun was shining in my eye.  Since it was red I do believe that it blinded me a little more then usual also:)

We went and saw a movie a couple of weekends ago and Jacob wanted to pose for a pic. 



feeding the ducks

Craig hung a bird feeder in the tree out in front of our house, we have really enjoyed it.  Tons of birds show up all day long we have even seen some that we are fairly certain are escaped or lost pet birds.  The ducks also like to hang out under it so Jacob loves to go out and feed them in the morning.  This might also be another reason that they keep coming back. 

And yes these are the pj's that Jacob will wear no matter how hot it is outside.  He likes them cause they keep him warm.  Fevered is what I am thinking.  The funny thing is a couple of years ago when we gave him and Zach their first pair (we thought that they were kind of funny) they threw fits them and there was no way you would catch them wearing them.  Well now as soon as they put them out in the fall I have to run to target to multiple pairs for both of them and they are the only ones that they wear.  So if you drive by our house one day this summer don't be surprised if some of us are swimming in the backyard while others are feeding ducks in the front yard in our nice warm fleece pajamas.



Cool Car

I took this picture for Craig the other day.  We were driving on the freeway and saw this car I thought it was pretty cool cause it was all silver and shiny.  He had other reasons which I can't remember now cause honestly I thought mine were better:)  It is shiney though.



Pinewood Derby Birthday Party!

For the boys birthday party this year we combined them and held our own pinewood derby.  Great fun was had by all.  We had so much fun and thanks to everyone for coming out and making it a great success and helping to celebrate birthday's with us.

Setting up.....

Zach wouldn't let me get a shot and after I took this one I told him that I was posting it to the blog since it had him in it.  He told me I had to delete it.....I think I might have posted it instead.  Purely by accident of course.

Our car slots are starting to fill up.  This is where they went after they had been weighed and checked in.

More cars.

Starting our first race.  Everyones car got to race 6 times 1 time in each lane the person who had the car in slot 1 got to count down and push the button to start the race.

If you notice the board in the back it had the name of the racer and the lane their car should be in for current race.  Down below in smaller print had the same info for the next race.  Everything was done on the computer so after each race the announced the top three and how fast they were going the same  info was on the board for everyone in the race.

We awarded trophy's after the first round (6 races per person) Jacob (our Jacob) took 1st, Merrick was 2nd, and Jacob took third.  Jacob was actually only 1/2 of a second faster overall then Merrick.  It was a close race.

We also allowed everyone to vote for their favorite looking car the only rule was they couldn't vote for their own.  The three winners all had 4 votes each so we randomly drew to place them.  Abram was 1st, Gavan was 2nd and Jayson was 3rd.

I took this picture of Jacob because he had graphite around his mouth looking like a mustache and tiny beard it didn't show up so well in the picture but you can still kind of see it.

Thanks again for everyone who came and helped us celebrate we hope that you had as much fun as we did. 

For those in our immediate families save the date for the second Saturday in November for our annual family derby.  Scout rules again and we will award a trophy for the first place winner that we will pass around each year to the winner.



Fire department day

School ended last week but not before the kids got a chance to be sprayed down by the fire department.  One of the top days of the year.

This is a shot with Jacob and his two little french friends.  They have been taking french this year and they are always chattering back and forth to each other on the way to the cars after school.  Nope I don't understand them.

This year the kids were throwing shirts up to them and they were shooting them back out to them.  The kids thought that this was very funny they just roared.



Pinewood derby

We had the pinewood derby for the cubscouts back in April.  The track that they rented was a lot of fun and everyone there had a great time.

This next picture has Jacob's car in it.  His is the green with red wheels on the far left it has a skull and crossbones in red on the hood.  Each boy got to race 6 times and Jacob came in 2nd in every race he was in which put him in 6th overall.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Today is our 15th wedding anniversary.  Sometimes it is hard to believe that it has been 15 years already, and to be honest I have to admit there are those days when it is hard to believe it has only been 15 years.  However I wouldn't trade any of it for anything I will take the good with the bad any day of the year as long as I have my family with me.  I love my husband more then words can express even though it sounds cliche it is true I can't begin to express how blessed I have been and how grateful I am for those wonderful blessings in my life but mainly my three boys. 

For our anniversary this year Craig gave me the gift that keeps on costing (ha ha).  Yes a pandora bracelet.  Even though I joke I absolutely love it.  The boys even picked out a charm each early for mothers day.  That is interesting watching them try and pick out a charm especially Jacob.  Well I saw a bird in the yard the other morning when I was outside with mom so I think a bird is a good charm.  But they both did finally settle on their favorite animals and they are so cute.

To make sure that our day was extra special and exciting Zach decided to wake us up in the middle of the night for a fun filled trip to our local ER. 

 

He refused to let me take his picture but allowed for this picture of his IV that they were using for blood draws.  He has been having an ache in his right side (tests have ruled out appendicitus multiple times) he had been to the dr and we were watching it but the pain escalated last night and he was shaking and in pain so we went to the ER.  He seem to be ok all the tests are showing he is healthy so we are waiting another day and then they will start ordering some more tests if things haven't gotten better.  So fingers crossed and keep in your thoughts and prayers I am sure that everything will be fine but he just doesn't feel good in the mean time.
