Dragon Fruit.

We bought dragon fruit to let the boys try it.  It is really pretty but no one was all that impressed with it.  It tasted a little like kiwi just not as flavorful.  The boys and I are also really excited cause Craig gets home from his trip to Houston later today.  We have missed him.

Young ambassador to England and France.

As most of you know Zach was offered the opportunity to be a young ambassador to England and France this summer.  We have given this much thought and have gone back and forth and back and forth again on what to do.  It is pretty pricey.  We set a limit of the max we could afford to think about, thinking that it was still a high figure and it would be half of that or a little more.  The limit that we set was only 300 dollars more then the actual price.

The  major problem is he is only 11.  I have worried all along about whether we could actually send our eleven year old out of the country without any of us.  He would be gone for 19 days and he has never been gone  from home for that long before.  There are also so many things going on out there today and we worry about something happening while he is away.

Well we have decided that as much as we would love for him to have this opportunity we just can't do it.  He is still a little young to be world travelling without his mom and dad, and it really isn't the safest time to be sending him out there.  He is fine with our decision, Craig and I still have our moments were we wonder if we are just being to protective.  I do think that we have made the right decision for our family.

Jacob had his own reasoning for not wanting him to go.  He said there would be nothing for him to do around here with just mom and dad and no Zach for that many days.  We found out that one of the things on the agenda to do while they are there is a trip to Eurodisney.  Jacob was excited and figured he could survive without Zach for the full time if we could fly in and meet him there the day that they went.  When we told him that, that wasn't possible for us to do as a day trip he was very upset. He then decided that it wouldn't be fair to him if Zach went without him.  Kids are so funny.

We are so proud of Zach for even being offered this opportunity, only one fifth grader and one sixth grader from his school were invited.   He is such an amazing person.  We know he will go far and will have more opportunities like this in the future we just feel like he needs to be a little older for this one.
