Trick or Treating

Trick or treating was last night here in Utah.  Which is great I think trick or treating should always be on a Friday or Saturday night anyway.  Wouldn't that be nice.  Jacob was Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.  And Zach was a Jazz player that shouldn't surprise anyone.

And don't forget Daddy.   The flash showed more of his face then you could see without it but then it was to dark to get the picture but you get the general idea.

It was rainy here but they still had a lot of fun.  I do think that the rain kept the crowds away.  We only gave out about 35 candy bars and had almost 150 full size and then a big bag of mini's for backup just in case.  Of course the boys are very excited that we have over a hundred full size left cause they think they will be eating candy bars every day.  I think I might freeze them and then I have them for next year.  Would that work?  I have to do something cause I can't afford the dental bills if they get their way:)

Happy Halloween!!!

Pumpkins.

We decided to use pumpkin head parts this year to decorate the pumkins rather then carve them.

The next two are very similar but are actually two different pumpkins.  They just decorated them with almost the same pieces.

The next two are from the same pumpkin they wanted to name on two face so this first picture is the first face.

Then they turned him around and put two faces on his other side.

This last pumpkin actually broke one of the pieces that we tried to stick into it so I got a knife to try to poke a whole with that and couldn't get the knife through either.  I gave up and we just set him out with no face the warts were enough of a decoration I guess.

And this last picture is of them out on the porch with the foggers.  I think they look pretty good and we got a lot of comments on them during trick or treating.

Happy Halloween.

Halloween Parade.

They boys lucked out and only had two half days of school this week. We flew home Tuesday night from disneyland and then Wednesday and Thursday were both early days. No school on Friday. So Thursday was the halloween parade and parties. I was looking at all the different costumes (there were some really cute ones) and before I knew it Jacob was right in front of me so his picture was after he had walked by.

So then I did it again with Zach. Well at least I was consistent right?

Jacob made this little treat at his halloween party and wanted a picture added to the blog with his directions.

Candy corns for fingernails, popcorn with a surprise treat cookie in the center of the hand add a ring and you have a scary halloween hand.

Have a happy halloween.

Jacob was on the hunt for "Nature" the whole trip so I have thrown in just a few of the pictures that he wanted.

I don't remember which ride this was next to but it was in Disneyland and we were surprised at the amount of fruit trees in the park.

The bottom fruit on this tree looks like a mini pumpkin.

We spotted this praying mantis on our way out of the park to go to the airport on our last day. He was on the bottom of a bench in downtown disney.

Jacob said this one would only count as nature if the pumpkins grew in the tree and hadn't been put there by people.

We had so much fun and were sad to see it end the boys are already counting down the days till our next trip.

Characters and Meals

The best way to see the characters is the character meals. One of our favorites is the storytellers cafe in the Grand Californian.

We also like Goofy's Kitchen.

We tried out the ESPN restaurant this time for the first time of course the boys all loved it.

And everyone loves fish n chips at the Rainforest Cafe.

And last but not least our very favorite restaurant the Blue Bayou.

California Adventures.

We loved the new toy story ride.

While we were over in Disneyland the boys noticed that each of the popcorn carts had a different character in them. So they asked me to start taking pictures I think that we got all of them. Can you tell which rides they were next to?

Rides and Trick or Treating.

We saw space mountain decorated for halloween also.

Everyone but Jacob he got a little nervous and decided not to ride this trip.

We bought tickets to go trick or treating in the park on Friday night.

Of course the boys couldn't wait to eat that first piece of candy.

While we were glad that we tried it we decided that we probably wouldn't do it again. It was very crowded limited to only to the number of tickets that they could sell. And at fifty bucks a head kind of expensive for a bag of candy. But it is definately something worth doing once if you get the chance.
