Well today was our third adventure day of the summer. We decided to go to the Living Planet Aquarium but before we could go we had to make a stop at the mall to pick up a game that Zach wanted with some of his birthday money at Game Stop. On the way out the kids saw that Godiva Chocolates had truffle ice creams so they decided that they would each like to try one. Zach popped his in his mouth and ate it before I could even hand Jacob his so we only have a picture of Jacob eating one.
Next stop was the aquarium.
Upside down Jellyfish.
This fish was strange we didn't even notice him at first.
I couldn't get Jacob to scoot any closer to the giant octopus on the rock then he is. I told him it was fake and he said he knew but wouldn't get any closer.
Zach looked away from the camera every time I tried to take this picture just before the flash would go off.
Zach wouldn't pose for this picture but I am grateful that I got so many of him today so I won't complain to loud.
I told them to stand like a penguin for this picture. I should have asked them if they knew what a penguin was first.
Well I guess penguins just goof around too.
Jellyfish.
We love frogs.
And of course there had to be a computer.
After the aquarium we decided to stop at Bella Cita's for gelato's.
Zach really wanted to eat there but Jacob refused to eat Panini sandwiches so we will have to take Zach back there by himself one day. Jacob did agree that the gelato was good although he only ate about three bites. Zach loved it though.
We miss you daddy and hope that your trip in Reno is going good we can't wait to see you when you get home. We love you.

Camping
We decided that this summer we are going to try and go camping several times. This was our first trip and kind of a trial run. Only one night so that if we forgot anything important hopefully we could survive without it. Of course the only reason you take kids camping with you is to put them to work right?
Since we forgot to take any food with us we figured the boys could shoot us some dinner.
As you can see dinner wasn't to concerned I think that he realized that as long as he didn't move he didn't run any risk of getting hit. The boys decided that they liked him better as a camp mascot and named him Kevin.
Next we tried to convince the boys that they could catch fish with their bare hands if they really tried but they just kind of rolled their eyes and walked away. But this little stream that ran right through our campsite was still pretty to look at.
The boys were a little surprised at my secret ingredient for camp cocoa. But they decided that they liked it anyway.
The Beyer's also heard the call of the wild and joined us after Aunt Sam got off of work. It was a good thing that they did also cause Jakson was always handy with a flashlight so that we could all see what we were doing. Notice in this picture he was shining his light onto the fire to make sure that everyone saw it and no one fell in.
Enjoying more camp cocoa.
Aunt Sam came and got my camera early in the morning to get this picture of a local moose that stopped by for a visit he is a little hard to see but he is there.
We had a great camping trip it was a lot of fun and next time I have to remember to charge my camera battery before we go so that it will last for the whole trip. Oh and we will also have to remember that the kids aren't very accomplished hunters yet so we better remember to take our meat with us.

Gilgal park
Today the boys and I decided to go to Gilgal park and then to the King's English bookstore. Craig and I had been to Gilgal when Zach was a baby with my family but hadn't been back since.
Zach was willing to pose for pictures today I think that he is feeling pretty good since his birthday is tomorrow and he is excited.
The cricket was the thing that Jacob was the most interested in seeing here he had heard about it and searched and searched till he found it.
Another picture opportunity but the sun was also up this morning.
The next picture is a view looking from the back of the park forward.
Most of the stones that are in the ground have different scriptures carved into them.
This is taken from the front right after the entrance looking in at an angle.
The also had lots of pretty flowers.
Even though this wasn't the type of park that they are used to the boys did admit that it was fun to go and see and they were surprised that it was just tucked away in a neighborhood downtown.
Then we stopped at the King's English bookstore. This was a fun store. It was floor to ceiling books all the way through. The boys loved looking in the kids section and even allowed me a quick walk through the rest of the store without to much grumbling that they were bored. If you haven't been I suggest checking it out. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and they even had a lot of autographed copies of books.

Beef Jerky
We are getting ready for summer. Making everyone's favorite beef jerky. Zach didn't want to help and an even bigger surprise is that he didn't want to pose for pictures. Jacob loves to help out in the kitchen though so he came to help and wanted pictures. We use ground beef for our jerky and shape it with a gun so here we are just after the spices had been mixed into the meat. Jacob couldn't wait to use the gun. Unfortunately he wasn't quite strong enough to pull the trigger so I ended up using it for him.
This is our finished product already to go into the dehydrator of course everyone was dissapointed to hear that it is going to be thursday before they can eat any.

seven canyons
We went up to the seven canyons this week with some friends. And when I pulled my camera out to take a picture everyone else ran for cover except for you guessed it Jacob who is always willing to pose for the camera.
Jacob and Jake decided that they were going to overflow the one little creek but their butts weren't really big enough.
Jake tries an alternative. But still not big enough.
I did snap this picture of Zach when he wasn't looking.
And in this picture you can see all five of them running up the hill.
Hope that everyone has a great weekend.
