Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We had the annual easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpas this weekend.

Jakson...

Gage...

Jacob...

Paige...

Zach...

The eggs are just thrown out on the lawn there are so many of them and not a lot of hiding places in the area where we have it. But the kids have fun racing to see who can get the most and it also helps to wear them all out a little.

Comparing eggs...

So that everyone gets equal amounts all of the eggs that are put out are empty. After we are done it is back to Grandma and Grandpas to turn all of the empty eggs in for easter baskets.

And like usual grandma and grandpa spoil everyone.

Everyone had a blast at the egg hunt again this year thanks grandma and grandpa again for doing it for everyone.

One last picture Jakson was just so cute playing with this that I had to take a picture.

We hope that everyone has a happy easter.

Guess what movie comes out on Tuesday yep the new Alvin and the Chipmunks. The kids have been telling me all week. They are so excited. We didn't make it to the theatre to see it so they can hardly wait to see it. They started their spring break yesterday (friday) and they will be home all of next week. Zach is a little disapointed that he wont get to spend the whole week playing the wii but I think that we can find plenty of other fun things to do. They are also excited about easter and grandmas annual easter egg hunt. I think I am glad that spring break is the week before easter I can send them back to school and let their teachers deal with the sugar high after easter. Just kidding. Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Fablehaven Launch party

We took the kids to the fablehaven launch party at Cottonwood Highschool last night. It was a lot of fun the boys have been anticipating it for weeks and were very happy to get the new book. We were also able to take Zach's friend Soren again this year. When we got there we had to wait in line to buy our autographed copy of the book we have met Brandon before and didn't want to wait in line for an autograph on a school night.

While we waited in line for the books Craig waited in line to get in the auditorium. Notice that he and Zach have the same excited look on their faces about waiting in line.

The boys sat on the floor and started reading while we were waiting to get in.

The discussions of what was going to happen got pretty intense as you can see.

Finally we got inside and we were lucky enough to get seats. Notice that Zach is still showing his excitement at waiting yet again.

This is just a picture of the stage before everything started.

They had characters from the books come out and sing and dance.

Shannon Hale (goose girl author) hosted again this year. The kids enjoy hearing her talk.

Brandon was arriving in the knapsack which was lost until it was found he spoke to everyone from the big screen.

The knapsack was finally found though and he was able to get out. Zach I think sometimes believes everything he sees on tv. He found it a little dissapointing that they hadn't rigged something so that you could actually see him getting out of the sack. Jacob of course bought it hook, line and sinker. Oh to be young again.

Shannon was found guilty of trying to take Brandon home for herself so that she could force him to right another book. As punishment she was sentenced to the the quiet box.

I would like to make one more note and that is that there was a Jack Sparrow (not so much) look alike who came out of the quiet box at one point in the evening. But sadly he was not the real thing and therefore a little bit of a big disapointment. Just kidding Craig.

The kids had a fun time and Zach is hoping that his next series will be a big enough hit that he will continue having launch parties. He is also wondering if Dave Barry does the same thing for the Peter and the Starcatchers series and if so if we can fly there to attend. I told him that with a little pixie dust anything is possible.

Today Craig tipped the coffee table in the living room up on its side to vacuum and look at what we found. Normally I just move the table so I am not sure how long this has been here for. Craig thought that it was pretty funny and we had a hard time keeping a straight face when telling Jacob that just cause we couldn't always see it didn't mean that he could write there. And we thought that he had quit writing on furniture and walls.

When he saw me taking a picture of it I told him that I was taking it for proof in case anymore writing shows up. Craig thought that this was mean but Jacob loves to get on the blog so I didn't want to send any ideas.

We just finished reading From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler together. Everyone enjoyed it. I remember liking this book as a kid so it was my pick.

Zach doesn't want to start anything else as a family since the new Fablehaven comes out on Tues and he wants us to read that one next. We read a really short one this afternoon though and Jacob wanted to pose for a picture with it. He was trying to pretend to be sleeping but couldn't stop giggling.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

We took the boys to see Alice in Wonderland last week. Jacob loves to pose for pictures with just about anything so at the movie theatre he wants to pose with any 3D props that they have or anything really. But we all loved the movie we did see it in 3D and it was worth it everyone would love to see it again. But I think that we will be waiting for it to come to dvd for the next viewing.

We have just finished reading The Witches by Roald Dahl. This was a cute book Jacob has now listed it as his favorite story. Zach wasn't so sure that he would enjoy it I think he thought that he was a little old for it. But after finishing it he admitted that it was pretty good. We will have to try some more of his books. Happy reading everyone.

Took the boys to the arcade the other day after school just for fun.

They had a ton of fun. They even played air hockey Zach let Jacob win once.

And of course they always love cashing in the tickets at the end of the trip.

We are all missing Craig and excited for him to come home.

Craig has been out of town we can't wait for him to get home. But while he is gone the kids get to sleep in the living room. I can never seem to get a picture of Zach without him making a face.

We have also just finished reading the third book in the Peter and the Starcatcher series together. We are waiting for the last Fablehaven book to come out in a couple of weeks so Zach doesn't want to start another big book so we are waiting on the last book in the Peter series.
